Krish and Sean once shared a life, a home, and a child—Eli. They had dreams of growing their family, but their marriage slowly unraveled. Krish, an absentee father, buried himself in work, convincing himself that providing financially excused his emotional neglect. Sean, left to shoulder the weight of their family alone, eventually drifted away.

Prashanth NAIDU GUNASEKARAN

Prashanth Gunasekaran is a Malaysian-born, New Zealand-raised film director and producer whose work spans feature films, short films, television, and international co-productions. After moving to Hamilton at 16, he studied Theatre Studies at university and began his creative journey in the theatre, building a foundation as both an actor and director before transitioning to screen.

With over a decade in theatre and nine years in screen production, Prashanth has co-directed two feature films, including Stranded Pearl, which premiered on Amazon Prime and earned international acclaim. The film won Best Oceania Film at the World Film Festival in Cannes, as well as Best Feature Film at both the Hawaii Independent Film Awards and the Melbourne Independent Film Awards.

His latest short film, Little Buddy—a psychological horror exploring grief and duality—is currently making its way through the festival circuit, including several genre-bending and boundary-pushing festivals that celebrate innovation in storytelling.

Prashanth is also developing the sitcom Ex’s & Oh’s and the upcoming features Nearly Departed and The Tides of Amaterasu. With experience as a 1st AD, line producer, and post-production coordinator across international productions, he is known for his collaborative ethos and passion for crafting cross-cultural stories with emotional resonance. Now based in Perth, he continues to build a body of work that blends heart, humour, and cinematic ambition.
